The Russian pet products market continues to adjust amid price volatility, with the most significant changes in 2025 observed in the small mammal food segment. According to a study by the Cenozavr service published by Postnews, rodent and bird food demonstrated the highest price increase among all categories.
The average price of a rodent diet rose by 31.6%. Bird pet food increased in price by 17.4%. The study authors note that this growth significantly exceeds price changes in the dog and cat food segment.
Wet pet food also became more expensive, although at a more moderate pace. The average price of wet dog food increased by 14.7%, while wet cat food rose by only 2.3%.
An opposite trend was observed in the dry food segment. Dry dog food prices declined by 17.2% and dry cat food fell by 9.2%.
