Moscow Region became the country’s leading pet food production hub in 2025. Regional factories produced more than 520,000 tonnes of pet food, up 4.4% from 2024. The region accounted for 46.4% of total pet food output in Russia and 30.8% within the Central Federal District.

The region’s position is supported by large manufacturing facilities concentrated in several locations. The main production centers are located in the Stupino Urban District and Dmitrov Urban District.

Growth continued in early 2026. In January–February, factories in Moscow Region produced 85,100 tonnes of pet food.

Additional capacity is also entering the market. As previously reported, construction of a new production complex in the Ramenskoye Urban District has been completed. The facility has capacity of up to 24,000 tonnes of dry pet food per year. The investor allocated ₽500 million to the project and created around 50 new jobs. The site has received its operating permit and is preparing to launch its first product line as part of the import substitution program.
