Pet products increasingly purchased online

Analysts presented statistics on purchases by Russian pet owners for 2023 and 2024. According to the study, in 2024 the average receipt for pet products amounted to $33.8 — 11% higher than in 2023. The purchases number also grew by 2%. Online, the average receipt reached $57.6, which is 3% more than a year earlier, while the purchases number increased year-on-year by 18%.

Among the most popular products for pets are dog and cat food, cat litter, veterinary medicines, grooming accessories, toys, and decorative items. Most purchases were made for cats, dogs, and fish. The most active buyers live in Moscow and the Moscow region, St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region, Krasnodar Territory, and the Nizhny Novgorod region.
