Russia’s Pet Services Market Experiences Rapid Expansion

The pet services sector has become the fastest-growing segment within Russia’s household services industry. According to research conducted by ORO, service orders number in 2025 increased by 162% to 67 million, while market turnover grew by 119% to $1,9 billion. Service providers number exceeded 170,000, reflecting a 69% increase year-on-year.

Demand is expanding due to several factors: rising household incomes, shifting attitudes toward pets, and a lack of available time among owners.

Urban residents increasingly rely on professional help for dog walking and general pet care. Pets are regarded as full-fledged family members who require dedicated attention and support.

Interest is rising in dog walking, temporary pet boarding, in-home visits by pet sitters, and services provided by canine trainers and handlers.

Structural shifts are also contributing to market expansion, including employees returning from remote work to offices, the growing pet population (74.8 million pets nationwide, including 49.2 million cats and 25.5 million dogs), and the broader trend toward outsourcing routine household tasks. According to experts, using sitters, groomers, or boarding providers has become a standard practice for many pet owners—just as common as cleaning or food delivery services.
